Driveways Price Guide

It can be difficult to know which material you should choose for your driveway and how much you should pay. There are so many companies offering paving and driveway services out there that it can be hard to find out what a reasonable price is.

To help you get to grips with how much you should pay for a new driveway, we’ve put together this guide.

General advice

Do your research

Take a look at the different types of driveway material available and consider what your needs are. Materials like concrete, gravel or block paving differ in price and are suitable for different types of terrain.

Set a budget

Try to set a realistic budget for your project. This will help you when it comes to selecting the right company to do the work as you’ll be able to compare quotes against what you can afford.

Costs

Since the cost of a driveway can vary so much, it’s best to get a range of quotes from different companies so you can see how much you should expect to spend.

Bear in mind that there are lots of reasons why one company’s quote might be higher than another’s, but be wary of extremely low or high. If they can’t give you a proper breakdown of your quote or explain why they are quoting their price, steer clear of them.

We’ve put together a table to show you the typical prices you might expect to pay for different types of driveway:

Driveway material Approx. cost per m2
Gravel From £8
Asphalt From £13
Concrete From £32
Stone paving From £25
Clay brick paving From £50

Expect to pay from approximately £45 per m2 in labour costs.
